The next was Dalmuir West United Free Church, which was established in 1906 and became Church of Scotland in 1929. It opened in 1915 but was destroyed during the Clydebank Blitz. A replacement was built in Kimberley Street in Mountblow in the early 1950s and renamed Dalmuir Overtoun. Faifley Parish Church
Faifley Parish Church of Scotland's history reaches back to 1845 when its congregation was created in Duntocher. At that time Faifley was only farmland and the Hardgate village was small, but when the Faifley housing scheme was built, the parish and its congregation moved there. Then In 1966 the new Church was built and demonstrated the interest in new architectural forms for Churches where it resembles a theatre in the round. The circular arrangement of seats are sloped towards the central communion table. Above the table is suspended a cross with 4 cross bars. This arrangement makes for an intimate feel since the congregation looks across at each other, at friends and neighbours.
